3 (x + 2) + 5x - 7
3x + 6 + 5x - 7
3x + 5x + 6 -7
8 x - 1

First expand the 3(x+2) bracket by multiplying out to give you 3x+6
Now, you have a full expression:
3x+6+5x-7
Collect like terms:
3x+5x=8x
6-7=-1
8x-1 is the answer simplified
