A student is confused and suggests that the formula for the area of a circle is A = 2πr. How can thinking about units lead to the conclusion that the formula is clearly wrong?

The area of the circle is given by the formula:

[tex]A=\pi r^2[/tex]

The area is the result of the product of two lengths

So, when looking at the given formula written by the student, we will find just one length which is (r)

So, as a conclusion the formula is wrong
