you can do pemdas, parentasy, exponent, multiple,division,addition and subtraction

4 (2x-15)+40=6 (x+5)
Distribute
8x-45+40=6x+30
combine -45 and 40
8x-5=6x+30
add 5 to both sides
8x=6x+35
subtract 6x from both sides
2x=35
divide by 2 on both sides
x=17.5
