Given that in the United States 2000 Presidential Election, George Bush had 271 electoral votes as against that of Al Gore 266 votes. Hence, if Alabama's 9 electoral votes that was won by Bush had been won by other candidates other than Bush. Then George Bush's Electoral votes would have reduced to 262, thus, Al Gore would have been elected president
