12+2x

2(10)+2(x-4) Remember Distributed Property so...

2(10)+2x-8  times everything on the right side of the equation by 2

then work the left side

20+2x-8 becomes

20-8+2x becomes

12+2x now if you need to solve for x take 12/2 and that gives you x=6
