If your rate of travel is 25 mph, it will take you 25 times an unknown amount of hours, x, to drive 175 miles.

175 = 25x

Divide both sides by 25.

175/25 = 25x/25

7 = x

Answer:

It will take you 7 hours to drive 175 miles at a speed of 25 mph.
